I found this oval wooden plaque at Dollar Tree and thought it would make a lovely base for a fall sign.
First, I used masking tape to divide the oval into two sections for painting.
Here are the paint colors I used for this project.
I painted one half Moss and the other half Harvest Orange, creating a warm fall color combination.
Next, I pulled out a stencil I purchased from Temu last year.
I positioned the stencil on the far left of the wooden oval, then used a sponge to lightly apply black paint over the lettering.
Here’s how the sign looked after stenciling. The black lettering stood out nicely against the painted background.
Next, I flipped the wooden oval over and attached a picture hanger to the back.
You may recognize these little scarecrows from Dollar Tree! I chose one to decorate the right side of the sign.
I attached the scarecrow to the wooden oval with hot glue.
Then, I pulled out a package of Dollar Tree rub-on stickers to add a few finishing details.
I applied some of the stickers along the bottom right of the wooden oval to complement the scarecrow.
Here’s the finished project! With a little paint, stenciled lettering, and a few decorative touches, this simple wooden oval became a cheerful fall sign.
