White Trunk, No. 9

White trunk
I got this trunk at the Goodwill store. It didn’t look too good.
White trunk
The trunk already had this white paint on it.
White chalk paint
I added two coats of primer and two coats of Pectro Chalk Antique White paint.
Open trunk
When I opened the trunk, the top would fall completely back. So, I wanted to add hinges to both sides.
Paint green inside of trunk lid.
But first I painted the inside top Pectro Chalk Olive Green.
Added hinges on the trunk.
Here I added the hinges to both sides. Now it can be opened to any angle and will not fall backwards.
Bottom of trunk.
I also wanted to add some color to the bottom of the trunk.  I decided to paint the bottom with the olive green paint.
Added feet to trunk.
Next, I added these round feet, that I already had on hand that I got from Amazon. This way if someone wanted to use it as a coffee table it would fit better as a furniture piece.

I continued the stripes to the front of the trunk.
Olive green stripes, No,9 on white trunk.
With a number stencil I added the No. 9 at the bottom next to the stripes.
Rope handles on a white trunk.
The rope the trunk came with looked like it was in good shape. So, I put them back on as the handles but made them shorter.
