Christmas Fireplace Craft

Scrap wood
I first had scrap wood that I made a box.
Assorted paints and wax.
These are the paint colors and wax that was used for this project.
Assorted popsicle sticks
Next, I took some small and large popsicle sticks to make a fireplace.
Wood box and popsicle sticks
I started with the large.

Then layered the smaller sticks. For the top of the mantel, I cut a large popsicle stick down the middle of the stick.
Garland mold
I used a few molds to add to the front of the mantel as well as the top of the mantel. For the wreath I just made a circle with the same mold until it looked like a wreath. For each side of the wreath, I added garland as well.

I let the clay dry overnight.
Green paint
I mixed green paint with gold metallic paint to get a metallic green.
Red and gold paint
I did the same with red paint to get metallic red paint.

I painted the wreath, the two-sided garland, the garland on the mantel and the ribbon. (I decided to add presents on each side of the fireplace and a ribbon to the wreath.)
Puff paint
I wanted to create a brick fireplace by using puff paint.
Sketch brick and added puff paint
I printed out a scaled down brick pattern I found online. I next added the puff paint to each brick on the paper, giving a raised look.

Once the puff paint dried, I painted the entire brick paper white.

Then add dark wax and wipe it back with a baby wipe.

I decided to add an ornament on each side of the wreath. Then painted the ornament and the ribbons on the present’s metallic gold. Then lightly add dark wax to the entire project.
Merry Christmas mold
I took out my Merry Christmas mold and let it dry.

Adding glue to the back of the faux brick.

At the top center of the box, I hot glued the Merry Christmas.
Small hole drilled in wood.
On the top left of the box, I drilled a small hole. This is where I will thread the fairy lights through.
Garland mold,
I hot glue the fairy lights to the side of the box.
Added feet to the fireplace box.
I added three round woods for legs.
