Christmas Book Leave a Comment / Christmas / By Tracy I started with this book that was lying around. Not shown here I painted the outside and the open page of the book a cream color. I didn’t know where I was going with this book, so I just pulled out a lot of molds. I used Das clay for this project. These are the paint colors used for this project. Next, I used one of the molds to create an arch garland. The mold for the Santa I had to use resin. I started painting Santa mold. This is the finished painted Santa. I placed Santa, the garland and the Merry Christmas sign to see how it should be placed. I removed Santa and glued down the garland and the sign. Then painted the garland and sign. This is the finished painted garland and sign. Next, I glued Santa in the middle of the arch and this side of the book was done. The Santa face mold is what I decided to use for the other side of the book. I liked the details in this mold. For the garland I pulled out this mold. But I didn’t care for the square look it gave. So, I cut around the garland to give it a realistic look. I glued Santa and the garland to the book. I was at first going to paint it green and red, but I decided to paint it black. This is what it looks like and now I need to bring out the details. Here I painted over the molds with metallic gold and gold Rub ‘n Buff and this side of the book was done. This is the finished product.
