DIY Paintbrush Gnomes – Cute & Easy Christmas Craft Using Dollar Tree Supplies Leave a Comment / Christmas / By Tracy I picked up these two paintbrushes from Dollar Tree, perfect for transforming into cute Christmas gnomes. I painted the larger paintbrush a bright, cheerful blue. The smaller paintbrush got a festive coat of deep red. I taped off the upper portion of both handles and painted the lower section white, leaving part of the brushes unpainted for a rustic look. After the red paint dried, I lightly dry-brushed white paint over it to give it a worn, snowy finish. For the blue handle, I used a white paint pen to add playful polka dots. Next, I hot-glued a wooden bead onto each brush to create the gnome noses. A small piece of twine was then hot-glued just above each nose to form the gnomes’ mustaches. To make them hangable, I attached loops of twine to the top of each paintbrush handle. I added a cute bow to each one to give my gnomes a little extra charm. And here they are — my finished paintbrush gnomes, ready to bring some holiday cheer!
