I found this beautiful ornate frame at a thrift store for just $3.99. Although I wasn’t sure what I would create with it at first, I loved the detailed design and knew it had potential for something special.
I began by thoroughly cleaning the frame with warm soap and water to remove any dust and residue.
Since I wanted to create a soft Easter-inspired look, I selected a muted olive-green paint to give the frame a fresh seasonal update.
I painted the entire frame with the olive-green paint.
I pulled out the Waverly Snow White paint.
Next, I painted the cardboard backing that came with the to create a clean, bright background for the artwork.
I purchased this Easter bunny transfer from Amazon.
Once the white paint was completely dry, I applied an Easter bunny transfer to the cardboard. The delicate bunny design instantly transformed the piece and brought it to life.
After stepping back, I felt the frame needed a little more depth and character. To achieve that, I used Waverly Truffle paint.
I lightly dry-brushed it over the olive finish. I then gently wiped it back to create a subtle antique effect that highlights the ornate details.
For the final step, I sealed the entire frame with decoupage to protect the finish and add durability. Once dry, I inserted the bunny artwork and replaced the glass.
The result is a charming, vintage-inspired Easter frame that adds warmth and seasonal beauty to any spring display.
